Everywhere Design— A NEW TAKE ON THE UNIVERSAL LIBRARY
Überall Gestaltung, or Everywhere Design, is a summarized collection of important written works about design. It presents design's sociological and environmental impact since the 20th century, and its progress. The design is based off of Friedrich Forssman’s iconic Reclam identity but has a contemporary twist. This project was created with Nadine Rabus and was presented to Reclam Verlag in 2016 at the FH Mainz.

The App
The application includes more photographs than the printed version and comes with a highlighting tool in Reclam yellow. There is a work mode so that users can take notes and create Reclam Archives, the apps bookmarking tool. Animated gifs, small surprising effects, and scroll reading make it easy to use regardless of it's limited functionality.
We also explored other features like classroom or book club chats, and book swap or send a friend. However, in the end, the main reading and note taking feature became my first MVP project. |
